Solidarity.
Learning about the power of solidarity and trying it out are a key to our own evolution as conscious beings.
Solidarity is understanding that everyone and everything has a voice, we just have to listen.
Solidarity is standing up for our human family, whether they are in the Amazonian rainforest or on the glacial tundras of the Arctic.
It is standing up for injustice, inequality and diversity. It is understanding that to know something is not ethical, but to do nothing about it is to actively participate in what we find unacceptable.
The key is not solidarity per se, but conscious solidarity. Action that comes from a selfless generous place.
Action that protects and honors nature and our fellow humans. Action filled with concern, deep respect, and love. Action that touches and strengthens the sacred.
“Activism is understanding that others won’t do it for us.”
A vision for the Heart of the world alliance
The Kogui have always been considered one of the highest spiritual indigenous tribes in the world. For thousands of years, they have been guardians of the Sierra Nevada in Northern Colombia. These mountain clans were guided by their strong spiritual practices to listen to the hidden language of the Earth and to assist in her healing with careful offerings and prayers of gratitude, and loving respect for all forms of life.
standing with standing rock
Standing Rock has symbolically become one of the most inspiring and important unifying events among tribal nations of all time.
As high winds whipped Standing Rock Reservation, followed by heat waves, snow and ice in 2016, more than 320 tribes from as faraway as Alaska, Mexico and Equador gathered in solidarity in North Dakota. They came together to pray for the protection of indigenous sacred lands and for the safeguarding of human rights to clean water. Echoes of the cry, <Water is Life> or <Mni Wiconi>, in the Sioux language, were heard as faraway as Greenland.
SOLIDARITY TAKES ALL SHAPES
Solidarity is about responding to generosity, openness and commitment to reshaping a changing world together.
FRIDAYS FOR THE FUTURE
Today we see young and old alike peacefully taking to the streets. They carry signs about the perils of climate change and our need to work for systems change. It’s not just about the weather. It’s about all the ways our lives are tied to money instead of a quality of life that respects nature and our place in it.
